This weekend we went to a very awesome party for a pretty little 5 year old we know and at that super cool party there was a lady making balloon animals! She did an amazing job and my kids were completely thrilled. So for our mail on Monday we decided to send out pen pals balloon letters (I had to explain to my kids that I could not make a balloon animal and send it in the mail because 1 im not that talented and 2 there was a certain popping issue) So blew up some white balloons and wrote our letters on them and popped them into the mail!
(Please note we used a pump to blow the balloons up so the germ thing isnt a factor)

ReplyDeleteHi Katie;
ReplyDeleteMy name is Tina, and somehow I luckily happened to cross your balloon idea, and then your blog. I think you are doing a great job, and I love your page.
Keep up the good work.
Tina:)
Cute Idea! I am a seminary teacher and I have 3 former students currently serving missions. I was look for a fun idea to do for them for their birthdays, their friends will love to write them on the balloons! Thanks. Also, what does your cute attached card ask them to do?

I would love to do this for my baby sister who's currently serving a mission. Do you mind telling me what the little card tells them to do? Thanks! candymandi{at}gmail{dot}com
ReplyDelete-let it go and it will shoot across the room
ReplyDelete- pull the blow tube side ways and hear the noise a balloon makes
-tie it tight and bounce it around the room
-take it to the party store and have helium in it
This is such a great idea! Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteDid you have any trouble with the marker smearing? I blew my balloon up, wrote my letter, let it dry, then deflated it. It sat out overnight and as I was getting it ready to mail this morning, it has begun to smear. any tips?
ReplyDeleteyes, does anyone have a suggestion of what kind of pen would work without smearing? This is a great idea but mine smeared too.
ReplyDeleteDid you send this in a letter? How much postage was required? Very cute idea!

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking a Sharpie marker might work best.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing is a dry erase marker; sharpie marker will smear horribly once you deflate the balloon. After you write the letter, let the balloon deflate over a long period of time (approx. 3 mins). It can be annoying to let the air out slowly/intermittently by hand but I can tell you first hand, it works. Good luck!
